Notesnook Mobile v3.4.15 is live. This release is all about trust in your data: we fixed a number of rare sync issues that could leave changes behind, made backups easier to keep an eye on, and taught Notesnook to sort numbered notes the way you would expect. The editor is faster in large tables, and the iOS app is now smaller.
Improvements
See when your last backup happened: Settings > Backups now shows the date and time of your last backup right under "Backup now" and "Backup now with attachments". If you have automatic backups turned on, you will also see when the next one is scheduled, so you always know your notes are covered.
Numbered notes sort naturally: Sorting notes by title used to put "Lesson 10" before "Lesson 2". Titles with numbers are now sorted the way you would read them: Lesson 1, Lesson 2, and so on up to Lesson 10.
Faster typing in large tables: The editor used to rebuild parts of a table's state on every keystroke, which made typing in big tables feel sluggish. That work is now skipped when the shape of the table has not changed, so typing stays smooth no matter how large the table is.
More accurate table of contents: The table of contents is now built from the note itself instead of what is currently drawn on screen, so it always lists every heading in your note.
A smaller iOS app: The Notesnook app and its share extension on iOS now share the same code instead of each carrying their own copy. Together with dropping unused font files, this makes the app noticeably smaller to download and install.
Reminders save without notification permission: Saving a reminder could hang or be blocked if Notesnook had not been granted permission to show notifications. Reminders now save every time, regardless of your notification settings.
Better Polish translation: Several inaccurate Polish translations have been corrected.
Sync and data reliability
We fixed several rare issues that could cause some of your changes to not reach your other devices, leave sync stuck in a loop, or sign you out unexpectedly. Sync now recovers from these situations on its own, without you having to run a force sync, and backups reliably include all of your notes.
Bug Fixes
Trash empties itself properly: Automatic trash cleanup only removed one expired note and one expired notebook at a time, leaving the rest behind. All expired items are now cleaned up.
Large trash lists are sorted correctly: On accounts with a lot of items in the trash, sort order and group headers could go out of order. The whole trash is now sorted as one list, and it opens much faster too.
Headline titles update on every edit: With the note title format set to use the headline, the generated title skipped every other change. The title now updates every time the headline changes.
Search highlights no longer leave stray tags: Opening a note from search results and editing it could leave hidden leftover highlight tags in the note, which then synced to your other devices. Notes are now saved cleanly.
Search results show text exactly as written: Text in your notes that looked like HTML could be turned into actual markup when highlighted in search results. It is now always shown as plain text.
