Open source & private Evernote alternative
The best notes app with zero trade offs on privacy.
End to end encryption
With privacy being the core value of Notesnook, we are building a Notes app that is as rich and powerful as Evernote and is 100% end-to-end encrypted. Being only a year old, Notesnook offers some exceptional features compared to Evernote.
Your privacy matters
While Evernote puts your privacy at risk, Notesnook goes an extra mile to ensure that your notes are safe and encrypted always by default. So unlike Evernote we can’t just put a privacy policy update stating that we will be reading our user’s notes to “improve the product”.
A key to a door that can be broken
But my Evernote account has a password on it so i think it's safe enough...Yeah but that password isn't used to encrypt your data so Evernote, governments etc can anytime read all your data and notes.

With Notesnook, you get a dedicated privacy lock that let's you stop intruders from getting into your notes even when your phone is not locked.

Great note editing
We believe that everyone uses a notes app differently. Some people need some features and other's don't. Notesnook simplifies everything in the editor for you so you can write notes without wasting time.

Web clipper
Clip and save websites, articles, blogs and anything you find interesting on the web and seemlessly sync with your Notesnook app. Learn more about web clipper.
No Official way to backup your data
While Evernote has no proper way to backup all your data. Notenook has a zero lock-in policy. This means that you own your data and can take it anywhere. You can easily take backups of your notes and even turn on automatic backups. You can even export notes as PDF, Markdown, HTML and plain text.
Notebooks & tags
Evernote only allows notebook (single-level) or stacks (2-level) & tags (single-level). While Notesnook allows colors, favorites, pins, tags, notebooks & topics.
What's an online notepad without syncing?
Not an online notepad, duh! Notesnook syncs to all your devices and it doesn't compromise your privacy on the way.
