Notesnook Mobile v3.4.8

August 04, 2026

Notesnook Mobile v3.4.8 adds a couple of handy new shortcuts, brings meaningful editor reliability fixes, and squashes a batch of Android widget bugs. Here's everything that changed for you in this release.

New Features

Sync status button in the side menu

There's now a persistent sync status icon in the side menu header. You can confirm at a glance that your notes are syncing properly, or spot when something's off, without having to dig into Settings. (#10112)

Reminder shortcut on the Android launcher & iOS Home

Long-press the Notesnook app icon on your home screen and you'll now find a Set a reminder shortcut, right alongside the existing Create a new note one. It's a quick way to jump straight into creating a reminder without opening the app first. (#10019)

Improvements

Code block languages sorted by recent use

When you set the language on a code block, the language list now floats your most recently used languages to the top. If you're constantly writing in the same few languages, you'll spend less time scrolling to find them. (#10144)

Updated editor engine

We bumped the underlying ProseMirror editor packages to their latest versions, which resolves several long-standing editor bugs around adding, deleting, and selecting content, especially on mobile. (#10158)

Bug Fixes

No more content saving into the wrong note

We fixed a subtle but important bug where, when switching between notes or tabs, edits could occasionally be saved into the wrong note. The editor now always ties content to the correct note ID, preserves the right note and edit time for any pending saves, and skips overwriting newer content. (#10157)

Images now save reliably after inserting

Inserting an image or attachment could sometimes silently fail to save into the note. That's fixed, so your inserts stick every time. (#10166)

Undo history is preserved when deleting images

Deleting an image from a note no longer wipes your undo history, so you can keep undoing your changes as expected after removing an image. (#10143)

Fixed note selection when adding notes to a notebook

We fixed the floating action button visibility and layout on the "add notes to notebook" screen, and your note selection is now preserved while you search. (#10104)

Fixed search crash with filters on Android

Searching from the main Notes list using a field filter (like tag:meeting) could crash the app on Android. Search now always receives a valid list to work against, so filtered searches work reliably. (#10106)

A batch of Android widget fixes

We gave the Android widgets a thorough pass and fixed a number of issues, including:

  • Reminder labels now roll over correctly (e.g. Upcoming:Last:, TodayYesterday), and fired one-off reminders disappear from the list.
  • Note widgets that lost their configuration now show a Tap to choose a note prompt and reopen the picker, instead of sitting there dead.
  • Adding two note widgets in a row now correctly gives each its own note.
  • Resizing a note widget down to a single row hides the preview text cleanly instead of clipping it.
  • The widget picker shows a live preview instead of a static image.
  • The empty reminders state is now readable in dark mode, including on third-party launchers.
  • Widgets repopulate correctly after a reboot.
